Reichstag Burning

The Reichstag burns, giving Hitler a pretext for 'emergency resolutions', and at right the Concentration Camps are born. The 'concentration camp' was an invention of the British who used them in the Boer War (1900-1901) to intern more or less the entire non-combatant population in order to eliminate the fifth-column problem. While not taken to the extreme of the Nazis, still, thousands upon thousands of Boer's died in British camps. The US too implemented the idea after Pearl Harbor to intern 1000s of Japanese Americans; fortunately sanitation was better than in the Boer camps and there were few casualties other than the US Constitution.
